VIP AND SISTERS TO CONTINUE SERVING U.S. PLAYERS?

(672) (11-October-2006)

Despite the L&G announcement, gambling companies say they're here to stay

The international media made much of the recently announced decision by London listed Leisure and Gaming that it would be excluding U.S. players in deference to the new US anti-online gambling financial restrictions, but within 24 hours officials at subsidiary companies were claiming that U.S. players would continue to be served.

VIP.com , Nine.com and BetGameDay.com will continue to serve US customers, the unidentified officials told Gambling911, although the English Harbour group was conspicuously not included in the report.

Parent company Leisure & Gaming announced Tuesday that it would be pulling out of the US market.  "VIP.com management assured Gambling911.com that following some procedural requirements, it would continue to take on US customers without any interruption.  The brands anticipate returning as private companies within a very short period of time," the 911 report revealed.

Leisure & Gaming meanwhile will hold onto its recently acquired UK brand, BetShop.com and presumably English Harbour.
